Rafik's Lamb Lollies and Homemade Tzatziki
My new favorite summer grilling recipe and big grocery store news.
Good news coming out of the grocery store push with Eat Happy Kitchen, as we now have some new chains carrying our sauces:
Heinen’s in OH & IL is ordering our Pumpkin Marinara for the fall
Raley’s in NorCal & NV is ordering our Pumpkin Marinara for the fall
Roche Bros and Brother’s Marketplace in MA now have all of our sauce flavors on their shelves
Foodtown in NY, NJ, and RI now has our 4 main sauce flavors on their shelves
Fresh Thyme will have our 4 main flavors on their shelves by September
Please support our retail partners!
I am in the process of raising money as all of this activity requires cash, and the amount of close calls we have while walking the line between growing the company tremendously fast and keeping the company from closing down is a most grueling adventure.
What keeps me strong and ready to win the day are meat snacks in the form of grilled Lamb Lollies.
Now, imagine, if you will…
A sphinx, a pharaoh, and a hellion, all embodied within one droll-faced Lebanese-Egyptian man.
Then imagine this man waving Lamb Lollies and Sangiovese in your face. You would pay attention.
It’s going to be a good night when Rafik’s Lamb Lollies make an appearance.
I strategically surround myself with people who love to cook. My friend Rafik and his wife Michelle make the best food, so I know that if I’m going over to their house, I’m gonna be eating like a rockstar.
I’ve learned that I cannot keep up with Rafik, nor should I ever try. But I convinced him to let me adapt his recipe for his famous Lamb Lollies for y’all. He uses Sangiovese instead of balsamic vinegar, and he only recently learned that there is such a thing as gluten free soy sauce.
Run, don’t walk, to make these Lamb Lollies. You will gobble them up fresh off the grill. I’ve never seen one make it onto a plate. They are truly delicious.
